Kaiji Season 2




Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji (賭博黙示録カイジ, lit. Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji) (also known as "Ultimate Survivor Kaiji") is a Japanese manga series about the art of gambling, written by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. It is published by Kodansha in Young Magazine. The first part of the manga (13 volumes), was adapted as a 26-episode anime television series called Kaiji (カイジ), which began airing October 2007. Madhouse has revealed that a second season of the anime is planned. A live-action 'Kaiji' movie was released October 10, 2009 in Japan with Tatsuya Fujiwara, most noted for playing Yagami Light in the Death Note live-action, playing the role of Kaiji. Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji is considered Fukumoto's most famous work, and is well known in both Japan and Korea. In 1998, it was the winner of the Kodansha Manga Award in the General category. A second television anime series based on the Kaiji manga has been announced, and will premiere April 5, 2011

K-On!




K-On! (けいおん! Keion!) is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga written and illustrated by Kakifly. The manga was serialized in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara between the May 2007 and October 2010 issues. It was also serialized in Houbunsha's magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat. The manga will relaunch in spring 2011 in Manga Times Kirara. A 13-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation aired in Japan between April and June 2009. An additional original video animation (OVA) episode was released in January 2010. A 26-episode second season, titled K-On!! (with two exclamation marks), aired in Japan between April and September 2010, with an OVA episode released in March 2011. An anime film adaptation has been announced and will be released in Japan on December 3, 2011. The title of the series comes from the Japanese word for light music, keiongaku (軽音楽), but in the Japanese context is similar to pop music.

Jewelpet




Jewelpet (ジュエルペット Juerupetto) is a magical girl anime series based on the Jewelpet Franchise by Sanrio and toy division of video game giant Sega. The series was produced by Studio Comet and premiered on April 5, 2009 to March 26, 2010 on TV Osaka and TV Tokyo, replacing Onegai My Melody Kirara★ in its initial timeslot. The series also recently aired in Taiwan on YOYO TV, and premiered as part the Boing programming block on the Telecinco television network in Spain in April 2010. A second series titled Jewelpet Tinkle☆ (ジュエルペット てぃんくる☆ Juerupetto Tinkuru☆) premiered later on TV Tokyo from April 3, 2010 to March 26, 2011 with 52 Episodes.
A third series titled Jewelpet Sunshine (ジュエルペット サンシャイン Juerupetto Sanshain) is expected to premiere in April 2, 2011

IS (Infinite Stratos)




IS <Infinite Stratos> (IS〈インフィニット・ストラトス〉 IS <Infinitto Sutoratosu>) is a Japanese light novel series by Izuru Yumizuru with illustrations provided by Okiura. As of December 2010, 6 volumes have been published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J label. A manga adaptation by Kenji Akahoshi started serialization in the seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive on May 27, 2010. An anime adaptation began broadcasting in Japan on January 7, 2011.

Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi




Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi (星空へ架かる橋, trans. Bridge to the Stars) is a Japanese adult bishōjo game published by Feng. Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi was adapted into an anime television series by Dogakobo under the direction of Takenori Mihara and Go Zappa supervising the scriptwriting. The anime series will begin its broadcast run in April 2011.

Wish Upon the Pleiades





Wish Upon the Pleiades, also known under the Japanese title Hōkago no Pleiades (放課後のプレアデス Hōkago no Pureadesu, lit. "After School Pleiades"), is an original net animation series developed jointly by Gainax and Japanese automaker Subaru. The series was released on YouTube in four parts on February 1, 2011 with the English-subtitled version appearing six days later.

Hen Zemi




Hen Zemi (変ゼミ), also known as Abnormal Physiology Seminar, is a Japanese comedy manga series written and illustrated by TAGRO and is a remake of TAGRO's earlier manga series, Hentai Seiri Seminar. Hen Zemi has been serialized in Kodansha's Morning 2 manga magazine since 2006. It has been adapted into an original video animation in 2010, as well as a anime television series in 2011.

Hanasaku Iroha



Hanasaku Iroha (花咲くいろは), or Hanairo for short, is a Japanese anime television series produced by P.A. Works and directed by Masahiro Ando. The screenplay was written by Mari Okada, with original character design by Mel Kishida. P.A. Works produced the project as the studio's tenth anniversary work. The anime will begin airing in April 2011. A manga adaptation illustrated by Eito Chida began serialization in the December 2010 issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine.

Gosick



Gosick (GOSICK -ゴシック- Goshikku) is a Japanese light novel series by Kazuki Sakuraba, published by Fujimi Shobo. Set in a fictional European country in 1924, a Japanese exchange student meets a mysterious, brilliant girl who only leaves the library to sleep. Her brother, a policeman, relies on her exceptional mind to solve difficult mysteries.
Tokyopop released the first novel in the series in English in April 2008 and the second in March 2010. The series has been published in Germany by Tokyopop since November 2006. A manga adaptation started serialization in the shōnen manga magazine Monthly Dragon Age on December 9, 2007. An anime adaptation by Bones premiered on January 7, 2011. Crunchyroll is currently simulcasting the series.

Freezing (manga)




Freezing (フリージング Furījingu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Korean manhwa creators Dall-Young Lim and Kwang-Hyun Kim respectively. The manga started serialization in Kill Time Communication's male-oriented Japanese SF/fantasy manga magazine Comic Valkyrie in 2007. The series revolves around an extraterrestial force called the Nova that are invading Earth, and genetically-engineered girls called Pandoras and their male partners called Limiters are created to combat them. The story centers on Kazuya Aoi, a Limiter whose late sister was a Pandora, and Satellizer el Bridget, a Pandora with a cold personality who is known as the "Untouchable Queen" for her intense aphephobia, both enrolled at West Genetics Academy, a special school that trains Pandoras and Limiters alike to fight against the Nova.
On August 12, 2010, an anime adaptation produced by A.C.G.T was announced and began airing in Japan on January 8, 2011 on AT-X and other channels.

Fractale



Fractale (フラクタル Furakutaru) is an 11-episode Japanese anime television series produced by A-1 Pictures and Ordet and directed by Yutaka Yamamoto. The story was developed by Hiroki Azuma and the screenplay was written by Mari Okada, with original character design by Hidari. The anime began airing in Japan in January 2011 on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. A manga illustrated by Mutsumi Akasaki began serialization in Square Enix's Gangan Online on September 30, 2010.

Dream Eater Merry



Dream Eater Merry (夢喰いメリー Yumekui Merī) is a Japanese action fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Ushiki Yoshitaka. The series is serialized in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Forward. The manga was adapted into an anime television series by J.C. Staff and began airing on January 7, 2011.

Dragon Crisis





Dragon Crisis! (ドラゴンクライシス! Doragon Kuraishisu!) is a Japanese light novel series by Kaya Kizaki, with illustrations by Itsuki Akata. As of May 2010, eleven volumes have been published by Shueisha under their Super Dash Bunko imprint. An anime adaptation by Studio DEEN has begun airing since January 11, 2011.

Doraemon: Nobita and the New Steel Troops: ~Angel Wings~




Doraemon: Nobita and the New Steel Troops: ~Angel Wings~ (映画ドラえもん 新・のび太と鉄人兵団 ~はばたけ 天使たち~ Eiga Doraemon Shin Nobita to Tetsujin Heidan ~Habatake Tenshi Tachi~) is an anime film based on the Doraemon franchise that was released in Japan on March 5, 2011 in both IMAX 3D and conventional 2D formats. It is the remake of the Doraemon 1986 movie, Doraemon: Nobita and the Steel Troops. This is also the first Doraemon film to ever be released in 3D.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko




Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko (電波女と青春男, lit. "Electric Wave Woman and Vernal Man") is a Japanese light novel series written by Hitoma Iruma, with illustrations by Buriki. The first novel was released in January 2009, and as of December 2010, seven volumes have been published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation started serialization in the October 2010 issue of ASCII Media Works's Dengeki G's Magazine. An anime adaptation will begin airing in Japan in April 2011.

Deadman Wonderland




Deadman Wonderland (デッドマンワンダーランド) is a manga serial written by Jinsei Kataoka and illustrated by Kazuma Kondou, who also wrote and illustrated the Eureka Seven manga, and published in Shōnen Ace since 2007. Tokyopop acquired the licensing rights to distribute the manga in English and has released the first volume on February 9, 2010. It has also been announced that an anime adaption to the series has been green-lit (it is planned for April 2011).

Danball Senki




Danball Senki (ダンボール戦機 Danbōru Senki, lit Cardboard Troopers) is a 2011 Japanese anime television series produced by Level-5 under the direction of Naohito Takahashi. Based on a plastic-model-building role-playing game, Danball Senki was broadcast in Japan on the TV Tokyo Network starting March 2, 2011.

Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below




Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below (星を追う子ども Hoshi o Ou Kodomo, lit. "Children Who Chase Stars") is a Japanese anime film created and directed by Makoto Shinkai, following his previous work 5 Centimeters per Second. This film is planned to be his longest animation film to date and is described as a "lively" animated film with adventure, action, and romance centered on a cheerful and spirited girl on a journey to say "farewell". The film is slated to be released in Japan in May 2011.

Case Closed: Quarter of Silence




Detective Conan: Quarter of Silence (名探偵コナン 沈黙の15分 Mētantē Konan Chinmoku no Kwōtā) is the 15th film installment of the manga and anime series Detective Conan. The film will be released on April 16, 2011. This film celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of the anime.

Cardfight!! Vanguard




Cardfight!! Vanguard (カードファイト!! ヴァンガード) is a Japanese trading card game created in collaboration between Akira Itō (Yu-Gi-Oh! R), Satoshi Nakamura (Duel Masters), and Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani. A 2011 anime television series based on the game was produced by TMS Entertainment and aired in Japan on TV Tokyo starting on January 8, 2011. In addition to the anime, a manga series was also announced.

Bunny Drop

  

Bunny Drop (うさぎドロップ Usagi Doroppu), also known as Usagi Drop, is an ongoing Japanese josei manga series by Yumi Unita. It has been serialized in the manga magazine Feel Young since October 2005, and collected by Shodensha in eight wide-ban volumes as of February 2010. It depicts the struggles of the bachelor Daikichi to raise an orphan, Rin, who is the illegitimate daughter of his grandfather. Part one takes place when Rin is six years old, while part two begins ten years later. It has been licensed in English by Yen Press. It is being adapted as a live-action film to be released in 2011 and as an anime TV series produced by Production I.G to begin airing in July 2011.

Buddha (ブッダ Budda) is a manga drawn by Osamu Tezuka and is Tezuka's unique interpretation of the life of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. The critically acclaimed series is often referred to as a gritty, even sexual, portrayal of the Buddha's life.

Blue Exorcist




Blue Exorcist, also known as Ao no Exorcist (青の祓魔師 Ao no Ekusoshisuto) in Japan, is a manga written and illustrated by Kazue Kato. The manga has been serialized in Jump Square magazine by Shueisha since April 2009, with individual chapters collected into four tankōbon volumes as of July 2, 2010. The one-shot of the manga was first featured in the September 2008 issue of Jump Square and was titled Miyama Ying House Case (深山鶯邸事件). As of March 4, 2011, 24 chapters have been released in Japan.
Viz Media has licensed the manga for the North American production. The North American book distributor Simon & Schuster listed the first volume of Kazue Katō's Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) manga for release by Viz Media this April 2011.

Beelzebub (manga)




Beelzebub (べるぜバブ Beruzebabu) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Ryūhei Tamura that serializes in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. Beelzebub was first published as a one-shot by Tamura in Weekly Shōnen Jump's 2008 volume 37-38, where it won the fourth Gold Future Cup, then it was serialized on the same magazine starting in its thirteenth volume in 2009. An OVA produced by Studio Pierrot was shown during the Jump Super Anime Tour in October 2010, followed by a TV anime series which began airing in Japan on January 9, 2011.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers





Bakugan Battle Brawlers (爆丸バトルブローラーズ Bakugan Batoru Burōrāzu) is a Japanese-Canadian action adventure anime television series produced by TMS Entertainment and Japan Vistec under the direction of Mitsuo Hashimoto. The story centers on the lives of creatures called Bakugan and the battle brawlers who possess them. Though initially a failure in Japan, the series became popular in the United States and Canada, prompting the creation/order of several follow-up seasons, (New Vestroia, and Gundalian Invaders) which aired in other countries before Japan. The fourth season, (Mechtanium Surge) is currently broadcasting in the Canadian and U.S. markets. The Bakugan franchise are co-productions from Nelvana Enterprises, Spin Master, Sega Toys and TMS Entertainment, with animation by TMS Entertainment in association with Sega Toys.

Baka to Test to Shōkanjū





Baka to Test to Shōkanjū (バカとテストと召喚獣 lit. Idiots, Tests, and Summoned Beasts) is a Japanese light novel series by Kenji Inoue with illustrations by Yui Haga. The first novel in the series was released on January 29, 2007, and as of January 29, 2011, a total of twelve volumes, including volume 3.5, volume 6.5, and volume 7.5 have been published by Enterbrain under their Famitsu Bunko publishing imprint. A manga adaptation by Mosuke Mattaku started serialization in the manga magazine Shōnen Ace on April 25, 2009. Another manga adaptation by namo started serialization in the male oriented web comic magazine Famitsu Comic Clear on October 30, 2009. An anime adaptation by Media Factory was announced the same month.
A promotional trailer was released for streaming in August 2009. The anime began airing on January 7, 2010. Funimation has licensed the anime for release in the United States under the title "Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts"

Astarotte no Omocha!





Astarotte no Omocha! (アスタロッテのおもちゃ!, trans. Astarotte's Toy!) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yui Haga about Naoya, a boy brought to a magical world as a candidate for the Princess Astarotte's harem. Lotte no Omocha! began its serialization run in the July 2007 issue of Dengeki Maoh and later republished in collected volumes by ASCII Media Works. In 2011, the manga series was adapted into an anime television series produced by Diomedea under the direction of Fumitoshi Oizaki which will begin its broadcast run in April 2011.

Aria the Scarlet Ammo




Aria the Scarlet Ammo (緋弾のアリア Hidan no Aria) is a Japanese light novel series by Chūgaku Akamatsu with illustrations by Kobuichi. As of March 2011, 9 volumes have been published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J label. A manga adaptation by Yoshino Koyoka started serialization in the seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive on September 26, 2009. An anime adaptation has been announced, and will begin on April 7, 2011

Appleseed XIII




Appleseed XIII (アップルシード XIII Appurushīdo XIII) is an 2011 Japanese CGI anime adaptation of Masamune Shirow's science fiction manga series Appleseed. Composed of 13 episodes, the series is a retelling of the exploits of ES.W.A.T. member Deunan and her cyborg partner Briareos. The series is produced by Jinni's Animation Studios in association with Production I.G and under the direction of Takayuki Hamana with Junichi Fujisaku as script supervisor. All 13 episodes will be compiled into two feature-length films.

30-sai no Hoken Taiiku



30-sai no Hoken Taiiku. Health and (Physical Education for 30-Year-Olds) is a Japanese guidebook series written by Mitsuba and published by Ichijinsha. The first book was published in November 2008 and was followed by two sequels. The series is aimed at men in their 30s who have not had any romantic or sexual relationships with women. The manga adaptation by Rikako Inomoto started on the November/December 2010 issue of Comic Rex. In 2011, the book was adapted into an anime television series produced by Gathering and will be broadcast in Japan on BS11 Digital and Tokyo MX starting April 2011.
